Psychiatry & medication management

What is psychiatry, exactly?

Psychiatry is the branch of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders. Psychiatric clinicians are qualified to assess both the mental and physical aspects of psychological problems — because the two are never really separate.

How it works here

The role of psychiatric care in your mental health.

Our Clarksville practice pairs a board-certified psychiatrist with dedicated physician associates (PAs) and psychiatric nurse practitioners (PMHNPs). Together they diagnose and treat the full range of mental illness — using comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, careful medication management, and an understanding of how physical and mental health interconnect.

The role goes well beyond diagnoses and prescriptions. Your provider invests real time — a full 60-minute intake — in understanding your life context, challenges, and goals, then develops a personalized treatment plan that resonates with your actual experience, not a template. Brief, targeted psychotherapy is built into every visit.

Psychiatry ≠ weekly talk therapy. Our focus is evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment — frequently including medication. If ongoing counseling belongs in your plan, we'll refer you to trusted local therapists we know by name.

What sets our practice apart

Care designed around the person, not the condition.

Personalized care

Effective psychiatric treatment is inherently personal. Your provider takes time to understand your specific circumstances, health history, and treatment preferences — so every plan is tailored, and outcomes follow.

Comprehensive team support

A physician-led, multidisciplinary team of PAs and psychiatric NPs offers a breadth of services — from medication management to ketamine, Spravato®, and TMS — so every aspect of your mental health is addressed under one roof.

Cutting-edge treatments

We stay at the forefront of mental health care: new medications, NeuroStar® TMS, ketamine therapy, and genetic testing are all part of our everyday toolkit — not a referral to a clinic two hours away.

Community focus

We're deeply rooted in Clarksville and Fort Campbell. We understand this community's unique challenges — military life included — and we show up for it beyond the clinic walls.

A welcoming environment

Healing starts with feeling safe. From the moment you walk in — or log in — our team makes sure you feel supported, understood, and valued.
